WHAT IS COUNSELING?

  • Counseling is a therapeutic process that allows clients to talk with a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who will listen, without judgement, to their life story and address any issues they would like to approach.

  • Counseling is guided by a theoretical orientation, and it allows clients to address issues like: self-esteem, anxiety, relationship issues, depression, etc.

  • Cognitive behavior and solution focused therapy techniques are used to help and guide clients to improving their mental health and wellness.

  • Clients must be open to the therapeutic process and be willing to be honest with themselves and their counselor.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  • Counseling is based on meaningful conversations during which a counselor will help clients to address anything that is standing in the way of their happiness, well-being or success.

  • The 3 main steps of the therapeutic process involve:

    1.     Establishing rapport and trust with your counselor

    2.     Examining problematic thinking patterns or behaviors through Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) techniques

    3.     Taking CBT and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) guided steps towards better mental health.

OUR PROCESS TOGETHER:

  • Clients must be committed to following through with their therapeutic plans, in order to address undesirable behaviors or thinking patterns that stand in the way of happiness and mental well-being.

  • A commitment to change is required from the clients.

  • Sessions need to be consistent and progress will be evaluated regularly.

  • We grow from challenging ourselves. If you never get out of your comfort zone, you can’t change for the better.

DETAILS & COST:

  • Counseling sessions last 50 minutes.

  • At the beginning of the counseling process, sessions should occur on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Frequency of sessions may change as the process evolves. This is a decision the counselor and client will make together.

  • To remove borders with clients and increase flexibility, most of the counseling sessions are conducted remotely, online with audio and video. (Through Doxy.me solution: easy to use, trusted, better confidentiality).

  • Remote counseling sessions are charged at $100 USD per session and prepaid. This is a lower than industry pricing, in order to make it affordable to a greater number of people.
